Computerized Medical Imaging and Graphics - Special Issue on Computer Assisted Stenting

The aim of the proposed special issue is to present the latest developments on every aspect of computer assisted endovascular stenting. It will include selected papers presented at the 1st and 2nd MICCAI Workshop on Computer Assisted Stenting (MICCAI-STENT 2012 and 2013) held in conjunction with MICCAI 2012 and 2013 in Nice, France, and Nagoya, Japan, as well as submissions from open invitations to those actively working in the field. These papers will present new techniques for every aspect of computational assistance for all kinds of stenting procedures regardless of their anatomical area (cardiac, aortic, cerebral, etc.).

Scientific Topics

  • Computer-aided surgery for stenting procedures
  • Imaging techniques for strut/stent detection, reconstruction, enhanced visualization, and assessment
  • Navigated stenting
  • Quantification of vascular morphology and function, stent (graft) vessel wall interaction
  • Detection and visualization of fluid dynamic changes induced by stents (grafts)
  • Computer-aided diagnosis of post-deployment diseases (neo-intima growth, stent malposition)
  • Computer-aided planning of vascular treatments
  • Segmentation and anatomic modelling from vascular images
  • Image-based biomechanical models of stents (grafts), vascular anatomy and function
  • Image registration for stenting procedures
  • Hemodynamic image-based modelling
  • Analysis and improvement of stent (graft) design
  • Virtual stenting
  • Monitoring and follow-up for stent (graft) implants
  • Efficiency of endovascular treatments based on stent devices
  • ...

Journal Info

CMIG

The purpose of the journal Computerized Medical Imaging and Graphics is to act as a source for the exchange of information concerning the medical use of new developments in imaging diagnosis, intervention, and follow up. Included in the journal will be articles on new medical scanning techniques, image-guided therapy, computer-aided diagnosis, robotic surgery and imaging, augmented-reality medical visualization, imaging genomics, reports of new advances in imaging modalities, and all other information related to the application of computerized radiology, oncology, and surgery. In addition, information on non-medical modes of imaging that have medical applications such as confocal and multi-photon microscopy, optical microendoscope, photoacoustic imaging, infra-red radiation, and other imaging modalities would be welcomed.
