Diploma thesis / Master Thesis / Bachelor Thesis: Augmented Reality Game for Teaching Medical Skills

Advisor: Nassir Navab
Supervision by: Tobias Blum

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) is a very promising technology for training. Today 2D illustratio are used to teach complex three dimensional structures. AR allows to visualize object in 3D coregistered with the real world. In medicine, AR allows to view inside the patient an visualize organs directly on the patient. We have an existing AR system using a head mounted display (HMD) and a patient dummy. The goal of this project is to develope a game to teach medical skills by showing e.g. 2D slices and let the user select the corresponding slice from the physical phantom.
