A Particle System for Interactive Visualization of 3D Flows developed by the chair for computer graphics (
http://wwwcg.in.tum.de/Research/Publications/PartSystem) and visualization should be integrated on a multitouch table. The challenging task is to find intuitive gestures for interacting in 3d with a 2d input device.
TISCH, a multitouch Table, which includes an ftir multitouch sensor and shadow tracking developed by
Florian Echtler should be used as hardware. As development framework the cross-platform, cross-device LibTISCH should be used.
The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to get to know the TISCH framework, to get to know detailed knowledge about user interaction on a multitouch device and to develop a 2d gesture based interaction for 3d content. Finally the application should be evaluated.
Tasks:
- In depth literature search
- Detailed user interaction concept
- Integration of the 3d flow visualisation software
- Evaluation of the prototype
Requirements
- Communication skills and the ability to work in a team
- Extraordinary motivation and the commitment to high performance
- High interest in visualisation and new user interfaces
