Thesis by: Saahil Ognawala
Advisor: Professor Nassir Navab
Supervision by: Alexandru Duliu, Loic Peter

Abstract

Erythema is redness of the skin or mucous membranes, caused by hyperemia of superficial capillaries. It is the primary symptom of diseases such as psoriasis with the extent of the lesion indicative of both the stage in its development but also its response to treatment. In this work we investigate multiple state-of-the-art methods to reliably segment such lesions from multispectral images under realistic lighting conditions.
