Abstract
Point-based surface acquisition methods commonly suffer of inaccuracy issues and artifacts, that result in non-smooth surfaces that do not match the original one sufficiently. To reduce the errors during this procedure, clever computational postprocessing methods are needed. This project focuses on improving an already existing point-based laser surface reconstruction algorithm developed at CAMP to ensure the smoothness of the acquired surface, while minimizing the presence of outliers.
