Image Analysis Methods in Multi-View Transcranial 3D Ultrasound for Diagnosis of Neurological Movement-Disorders
Abstract:
In the past decades, transcranial 2D ultrasound examination has established itself for diagnosis of neurological movement disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease. In this work, we introduce a complete system for a more objective, computer-assisted examination of the midbrain using 3D ultrasound. The system comprises several novel approaches for automatic segmentation of diagnostically relevant target anatomies. Validation is performed on an unprecedented clinical dataset with 22 subjects.
