Young Scientist Award 2015 presented to Nicola Rieke

We are very proud to announce that two of our current PhD candidates were acknowledged for their outstanding work presented at the international conference MICCAI 2015:
* Master student Sepideh Mesbah and PhD candidate Sailesh Conjeti received an honorable mention for their paper entitled "Hashing Forests for Morphological Search and Retrieval in Neuroscientific Image Databases".
* PhD candidate Nicola Rieke was honored with the MICCAI 2015 Young Scientist Award. Her paper entitled "Surgical Tool Tracking with Pose Estimation in Retinal Microsurgery" was a collaborative work with Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, Munich, Germany. The publication was between the 0.5% best papers submitted to this international event.
In the course of its annual conference, the international society on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) the best papers are selected based on peer reviews and examination of an independent peer review panel. This year, out of 263 accepted papers, the panel awarded the 13 most outstanding works of young researchers with the Young Scientist Award (first 4) and the honorable mention (second 9).
