Constrcution of a Ultra-Bright Display

Subject

Based on the work of Helge Seetzen (see paper 'High Dynamic Range Display Systems'), this project is intended to construct and realize a display based on a LCP-Display in combination with a LED-Array to display ultra-bright visualizations.

A display of this kind can be used in cars to realize a Head-Up Display that can compare with normal daylight in brightness.

Powering Brightness

We want to construct a display, that can be attached by a normal graphics card connector of a computer. In this configuration, the display is intended to give a much higher brightness, by just streching the normal brightness values.

High Dynamic Range

(High Contrast, as described in paper,) The use of a second connector to a computers graphics card requires also a special software running on the computer that generates the high dynamic range pictures.
