1st Visualization meeting NARVIS (in Klinikum Innenstadt NARVIS LAB)

Attendants: Prof. Dr. Ekkehard Euler, Dr. Sandro-Michael Heining, Jörg Traub, Philipp Stefan, Latifa Omary

Discussion:

  • presentation of our project

Goal of this Project:

  • visualization in-situ of preoperatively acquired CT data by using a HMD (Head Mounted Display)

Troubles before/in the OP:

  • it costs the surgeon quite an effort to conceive the 2D images in 3D
  • it is not always possible to rely on decision made in the planning stage

Motivation:

  • feedback possible, thus evaluation possible (do we need more transparency?, is this picture good enough?...)
  • good for OP where the technic is needed, for example to measure bones
  • future: we could use the results for planning stage, or as learntool, or for simulation

Next task:

  • first implementation (RAMPOutput/DICOM - read/Texture - CT visualization)

To do:

  • Sandro:
    • test if markers are visible on CT
    • network with ssh
    • Keys & access to the NARVIS LAB
    • coffee machine smile

  • Sandro/Ekkehard:
    • propose some medicine lectures
    • new lecture: Technic / medicine (?)

  • Jörg:
    • IDP Formular

  • Philipp/Latifa:
    • search lessons on www.mecum-online.de (see "Module 3", "Gerätekunde"-TUM)
    • fix a date for OP with Prof. Euler

Future tasks:

  • Control: attach markers on the spine to compare the position with markers on the skin.
  • write paper on our IDP as technical report

Presentation:

  • wednesday 13th March 3 p.m about 15 minutes (medicine and technic)
  • talk about segmentation (which module within CAMPAR to use, meet Ben Glocker)

Regular meetings: Jörg/Philipp/Latifa

  • NARVIS LAB: alternate Monday/Tuesday - 5 p.m
  • Garching: Friday - 1 p.m
