Abstract
Gamification has become a driving factor in many modern applications and fields. Language Learning, public info terminals, even social services contain game elements for the motivational factors in user behaviour.
But what elements affect us the strongest? Can we categorize these ideas and rank them in strength?
For this project, we want to create an easily distributable mobile application containing some very basic functionality.
Different gamification ideas can be added and enabled to measure their effective impact on users.
Tasks
- Implement a mobile/web application following a very simple task
- Research recent work in Gamification to find suitable game elements for your application
- Add gamification elements to your application
- Implement interchangability. Make sure elements can be enabled and disabled as you see fit
- Implement data evaluation. Save measurements in your application about user behaviour
- Run a user study
- Compare different elements in their effects and categorize them
Requirements
- Programming Skills in mobile-deployable Game Engine (Unity3D, Unreal Engine, Godot, LibGDX?, etc.) OR Mobile Development skills OR Web Development skills.
