SOFTNET
Service Engineering for Soft Networking
In SOFTNET, new software engineering methods for new communication networks
and networking techniques are developed and tested. The main focus lies on
mobile networks in heterogeneous environments.
- DWARF ++
Distributed Augmented Reality Framework Interest Group
Augmented Reality is a new way for humans and computers to interact:
real-world scenes are augmented with virtual objects. The augmented scene can,
for example, be presented to the user through a see-through head-monted display.
DWARF aims to build a Framework for the development of such systems: a
collection of intelligent modules that can be combined flexibly depending on
the needs of the desired application.
The AR systems we would like to build are supposed to be Distributed and Wearable -
they can constist of several small computers that the user can carry around with him.
The system will be able to dynamically integrate the services offered by other,
stationary computers in the environment to extend its own capabilites.
