Prof. Dr. Nassir Navab
Chair for Computer Aided Medical Procedures, Technische Universität München , Germany

Prof. Dr. Nassir Navab is a full professor and director of the institute for Computer Aided Medical Procedures (CAMP) at Technical University of Munich (TUM) with a secondary faculty appointment at its Medical School. He is also acting as Chief Scientific Officer for SurgicEye? GmbH?. In November 2006, he was elected as a member of board of directors of MICCAI society severing until February 2011. He has served on the Steering Committee of the IEEE Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality between 2001 and 2008. He is the author of hundreds of peer reviewed scientific papers and over 50 US and international patents. He is the associated editor of several scientific journals including IEEE TMI and Medical Image Analysis. He received the Siemens Inventor of the Year award in 2001 for the body of his work in interventional imaging and the SMIT technology award in 2010 for his inventive contributions to Camera Augmented Mobile C-arm and Freehand SPECT technologies.

Federico Gil Distinguished Professor Henry Fuchs

Henry Fuchs is the Federico Gil Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering at UNC Chapel Hill. He has been active in computer graphics since the early 1970s, with rendering algorithms (BSP Trees), hardware (Pixel-Planes and PixelFlow?), virtual environments, tele-immersion systems and medical applications. He received a Ph.D. in 1975 from the University of Utah .

From 1975 to 1978 he was an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Dallas. Since 1978, he’s been on the faculty at UNC Chapel Hill. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the recipient of the 1992 ACM-SIGGRAPH Achievement Award, the 1992 Academic Award of the National Computer Graphics Association, the 1997 Satava Award of the Medicine Meets Virtual Reality Conference, and the 2013 IEEE-VGTC Virtual Reality Career Award.

Dr. Bernhard Kainz
Imperial College London, UK

Bernhard Kainz is a Marie-Curie Fellow at Imperial College London. His current research is on foetal MRI image real-time processing and visualization in the group of Prof. Daniel Rueckert. He finished his Ph.D.-Thesis within the field of medical visualization, volume graphics and GPU algorithms in the team of Prof. Schmalstieg at the Institute for Computer Graphics and Vision at Graz University of Technology in 2011. His research interests are the interconnection of medical image data acquisition, fast GPU accelerated medical image processing and interactive real-time medical visualization.

Prof. Roy Eagleson
University of Western Ontario, Canada

Roy Eagleson is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Western Ontario, an Associate Scientist at the Robarts Research Institute, and a Scientist and Principal Investigator at CSTAR (The Canadian Surgical Technologies and Advanced Robotics research centre; part of the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), LHRI.

He is the co-leader within the National Centres of Excellence on Graphics and New Media (GRAND-NCE) project on Simulation and New Media for Healthcare Training (HLTHSIM). As part of the Ontario Research Fund award for Surgical Simulation, Eagleson is co-leader of the Theme on Evaluation of Surgical Simulators. Research Interests: 3D Biomedical Visualization and Surgical Simulation. Human-Computer Interface Design for Surgical Skills Training. Haptic Interfaces and Interactive Immersive Graphical Interfaces (Volumetric Visualization with GPU programming)
