Workshop on Modeling and Ultrasound Imaging 2010

Date : June 28, 2010

Location : Garching, MI 03.13.010

This workshop features current research on modeling the human heart based on medical image datasets and research related to ultrasound imaging. Modeling complex organs, like the heart, is not only of interest for assessing the functionality of the organ and diagnosing possible diseases, but also for aiding and guiding interventional procedures. In this talks series results will be presented on modeling the valvular heart apparatus and assessing and planning pulmonary trunk treatment. The presentations on ultrasound imaging will cover a broad research spectrum including ultrasound simulation, segmentation, brain imaging with emphasis on diagnosis of Parkinson disease and breathing modeling from 4D ultrasound sequences. Combining modeling and interventional ultrasound imaging will lead to new and improved applications, with a concrete use-case presented at the end of the workshop. During the workshop the audience will have the chance to interact with the presenters and ask questions.
