Controlling 3D objects by using a multitouch surface with gesture recognition
Abstract
This thesis is about using a mulititouch surface to control 3D-objects using the example of a Chemistry program.
There are two systems which already exist. The TISCH libraries in case of the multitouch surface and the Ubitrack libraries for the manipulation
of 3D objects. Ubitrack contains certain drivers for different devices, which can be used to control 3D objects. So the task of this thesis is to
write such a driver for the TISCH.
The main challenges of this thesis are:
- to find a way to link both libraries by using the existing tools and additional libraries.
- to identify the possibilities of interaction between both systems
- to map the different gestures, which you can make on a multitouch surface, to rotations, movement and other actions on 3D-objects.
- to make sure that the driver works in the same way the Ubitrack users are familiar with
