Tetris on a multitouch table - concept image
Tetris is a very well-known game. Over 20 years people have fun playing this simple game. The popularity of Tetris comes from very simple but challenging rules.
Multitouch user interfaces are getting more and more popular. The new developed Tetris should use the special features of the table – which is the multiuser, multitouch and tangible function.
It is time to extend this game classic to a tangible multiplayer Game. One, two or up to 4 players are able to play against each other or in cooperation. Tangible 3d tokens are used for game playing, which have the shape of Tetris tokens should be used. A basic concept for the design exists already. This should be refined. New ideas can improve the concept.
TISCH, a multitouch table, which includes an ftir multitouch sensor and shadow tracking developed by
Florian Echtler should be used as hardware. As development framework the cross-platform, cross-device LibTISCH should be used (
http://tisch.sourceforge.net/).
The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to get to know the TISCH framework, to define a detailed game concept, to implement the game and to do a user study with potential gamers.
