A GUI description language for use in Distributed Applications

Goal of this work is to provide a software package to collect graphical user interfaces descriptions in a distributed system, so that a system administrator can manage all connected application processes from his personal authoring computer from one application window.

Subject

While common issues of Java's GUI packages are solved in various open source packages, new challenges arise in distributed systems.

When setting up communication between distributed program components, the communication mechanism has to know about the datatypes and interfaces to handle. So, whenever a new datatype is introduced, the definition of the distributed datatypes are affected. This SEPs topic is to define a generic mechanism collecting various distributed GUIs in one authoring application.
