Abstract: Application oriented course that starts with the practical knowledge needed to be able to move around the operating room (OR), as well as the background for four selected clinical applications. Then it goes back to the theory of medical augmented reality, surgical robotics and intraoperative imaging and navigation. Groups of 3 students will then apply this newly acquired knowledge for the evaluation of a particular surgery with the goal of detecting problems and proposing a technological solution to solve it. The results will be discussed with the tutors and presented at the end of the semester. All students will visit each 4 different image-guided surgeries during the semester.
