IPCAI 2014, the 5th International Conference on Information Processing in Computer-Assisted Interventions, will be held on June 25, 2014 in Fukuoka, Japan.

IPCAI is a premiere international forum for technical innovations, system development and clinical studies in computer assisted interventions. IPCAI will include papers presenting novel technical concepts, clinical needs and applications as well as hardware, software and systems and their validation. The review process will be highly selective and double anonymous.

Submissions of original works are encouraged within the broad Computer-Assisted Interventions (CAI) remit and specifically in the areas of:

  • Systems and software
  • Evaluation and validation
  • Interventional imaging
  • Interventional robotics
  • Tracking and navigation
  • Surgical planning and simulation
  • Advanced intra-op visualisation and user interfaces
  • Surgical skill analysis and workflow

IPCAI will be collocated with the International Congress on Radiology and Surgery (CARS). The Program Committee will make sure that the paper selection process is finalized before the submission deadlines for CARS and MICCAI. This allows the authors of papers not accepted by IPCAI to submit a revised version of their paper to one of these conferences.

Each accepted paper will be presented in a 30 minute time slot, including discussion of the paper with the audience.

Papers will be published in LNCS Springer proceedings. The last proceedings of IPCAI 2012 in Pisa were one of the top 50% most downloaded eBooks in the relevant Springer eBook Collection in 2012.

Important Dates

  • Paper submission deadline: November 15th, 2013 (11pm PST)
  • Author notification: January 21, 2014
