Comparison study of detection models for nuclear probes
Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine, 2010, Vienna, Austria (bib)

Nuclear probes are nowadays commonly used for intra operative functional imaging. Recently a method to provide 3D imaging using these probes has been introduced (freehand SPECT). The measurements are acquired together with the position and orientation of the probe by employing optical tracking of the manually moved probe. This data can then be used similar to conventional tomography to compute a 3D reconstruction. However for this computation an ad hoc model of the detection physics of the probe is needed as the acquisition geometry is random. Such models are presented and evaluated in this work.
