Health Technology and Systems Research at Information Science
Abstract:
The University of Otago in Dunedin/New Zealand is the leading research university in the country and is also the leading academic institution in health education. The department of Information Science conducts basic and applied research in information and communication technologies and considers health technologies and systems as one of its major areas. Holger will give an overview on past and future activities and will present one example research project to illustrate the nature and procedure of information science research in health.
Biography:
Prof. Holger Regenbrecht has been working in the fields of Virtual and Augmented Reality for over 15 years. He was initiator and manager of the Virtual Reality Laboratory at Bauhaus University Weimar (Germany) and the Mixed Reality Laboratory at
DaimlerChrysler? Research and Technology (Ulm, Germany).
His research interests include Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Applied Computer Science and Information Technology, (collaborative) Augmented reality, 3D Teleconferencing, psychological aspects of Mixed Reality, three-dimensional user interfaces (3DU) and computer-aided therapy and rehabilitation.
He is a member of IEEE, ACM, and igroup.org and serves as a reviewer and auditor for several conferences, journals and institutions.
