Invited Talk by Gregor Schaefers: MRI Innovation

gregor Schaefers

  • Date: Wednesday, April 16, 2014
  • Time: 11:30 - 12:15
  • Location: TUM-IAS conference room 0, Lichtenbergstr. 2a, Garching

On invitation of TUM-IAS Rudolf-Diesel-Fellow and TUM-CAMP affiliated Professor Dr. Michael Friebe, Gregor Schaefers will speak about

MRI Innovation

MR:comp provides magnetic resonance (MRI) safety and compatibility testing from 0.2 to 7.0 Tesla for items and devices. Standardized test methods are acc. to e.g. ASTM, ISO/TS 10974, IEC, NEMA: force, torque, RF and gradient heating/vibration/induced voltages, malfunction, image artifacts. Numerical simulation of electromagnetic fields is provided for analysing MR characteristics and RF-induced heating of devices. MR:comp is participating in and leading research projects for MRI safety and compatibility of implants and devices and thus accompanying important development of numerical and experimental testing methods. Beyond this, MR:comp is distributing EU wide MagResource MR Implant Online Database (www.MagResource.eu) for finding fast and comprehensively MR labelling information of implants.
