Abstract
In interventions using augmented reality, guided surgery enables the localisation of the instrument in the augmented patient framework. However this localisation is affected by errors which can bring to a false impression of security particulary in interventions localised at the proximity of critical areas like the spinal canal. There are many sources of error such as errors in planning, segmentation, registration and tracking. The analyse of all these errors and their propagation in the system should enable a n evaluation of the global error as a propagation pipe line. Then a measurement of the quality of the localisation of the instrument in the patient framework should be displayed intra-operatively in an intuitive way to the surgeon.
