Abstract
Registration of 2D medical images to 3D volumes of a patient is a crucial issue for locating injected instruments in 3D and helping an operating physician to guide a way through the patient’s anatomy.
An algorithm shall be developed to register extracted blood vessels from 2D and 3D images represented as 2D and 3D curves. This can be achieved by using an Iterative Closest Point (ICP) algorithm adapted to the 2D-3D projective case.
The work includes following steps:
- Implementation of projective invariants and a MatchFinder using these
- Implementation of an ICP procedure
- Testing the algorithm on curve data from Computed Tomography Images and X-Ray projections
a 2D and 3D curve extracted from X-ray and Computed Tomography Data
