Abstract

Clinical Setting
Endoscopic gastrointestinal two-dimensional ultrasound is a routine imaging modality for diagnosis of e.g. pancreas.
In order to track the spatial location of ultrasound images during the intervention it might be possible to register those two-dimensional images to another three-dimensional ultrasound image, which was recorded during the same intervention or shortly before.
Task
tbd
Registration of a sequence of two-dimensional ultrasound images to a three-dimensional ultrasound volume.
The focus of this project is the online registration (tracking), while the offline registration (i.e. of the complete image sequence at once) is the scope of other projects.
Methods
tbd
Similarity measures for ultrasound images need to be evaluated.
