Fully 3D thyroid imaging with mini gamma cameras
Proceedings of Fully3D, Newport, USA, June 2015 (bib)

Thyroid imaging using radioactive tracers is a common imaging task and is usually performed using 2D gamma cameras. In this work we present a setup for Fully 3D imaging of the thyroid using a mini gamma camera. Using both "step-and-shoot" and continuous trajectories as well as conventional statistical reconstruction schemes (ML-EM and LM-EM) we present experimental results of a realistic thyroid phantom, showing the feasibility of the approach.
