Project

TranCYST:

Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) is a rare inherited genetic disorder characterized by development of renal cysts leading to an end stage renal disease. Current imaging and therapeutic methods serve to be only supportive, slowing the progression of the disease without any effective treatment to eliminate cyst development. The TranCYST project aims to focus on approaches to study and validate disease mechanism models providing new insights for better understanding and improvement in the current techniques towards ADPKD.

AIM:

  • Development of a novel kidney segmentation approach for volumetric quantification of the ADPKD kidneys followed by evaluation on existing imaging data from clinical trials on ADPKD patients.
  • Identification of novel imaging biomarkers in ADPKD

Clinical Trials:

  • Ongoing: clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02618460
  • Ongoing: clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01377246
  • Finished: clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01223755
  • In Progress: clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02187432
